Sukhpal Khaira resigns from Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party
New Delhi, Jan 6 (IBNS): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received another jolt ahead of the Lok Sabha polls as Punjab legislator Sukhpal Khaira quit from the outfit on Sunday.
He is the second major AAP member who left the party in recent times.
Earlier, senior leader HS Phoolka had quit the political outfit which is led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
What did Khaira say?
As per media reports, Khaira said the AAP was not following the political ideology on which it is based upon.
AAP was formed in 2012 following an anti-corruption movement in Delhi.
AAP sensed his resignation earlier:
The Aam Aadmi Party said it was expected earlier that he is going to resign from the party.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said the party will be strengthened with his resignation.
Party leader Manish Sisodia tweeted: "Mr Sukhpal Khaira's resignation was expected. Party will be strengthened with his exit. He shuld now resign from MLA also, which he won on party ticket. Mr Khaira started revolting against party since post of LoP in Punjab was given to a Dalit leader. 1/N."

"AAP will keep working for poor and marginalised people. Those who have problem in this can leave the party. Mr Khaira was trying to weaken party and was openly revolting against the party since then. He tried to break party. Which organization can tolerate such behaviour? 2/N," he said.
