Sushant consumed marijuana, tried to control him: Rhea Chakraborty

New Delhi/IBNS: A day after Rhea Chakraborty's name featured in a drug probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau over fresh allegations based on some alleged WhatsApp messages recovered from her phone, the actress in a sensational claim on Thursday said Sushant Singh Rajput used to consume marijuana.

She said this was the only thing about Sushant she tried to control and that she is open to a blood test to prove that she never consumed drug in her life

In an interview to NDTV channel, Rhea claimed: "Sushant used to smoke marijuana. I tried to control him to stop. I have never spoken to a (drug) dealer or taken drugs in my life. I am open to a blood test. Anything I say will be misconstrued."

The Narcotics Control Bureau is the latest agency to be associated with the death probe of Sushant Singh Rajput after that of Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

According to media reports, fresh allegations against Rhea suggest that her phone messages include an alleged conversation about procuring drugs with a person saved on her phone as 'Miranda Sushi'.

As per reports, Sushi was a nickname for Sushant and Miranda probably refers to Samuel Miranda, his manager, who was questioned by the CBI on Tuesday.

Rhea in the interview said she never wanted to speak about this regarding Sushant but his family only opened up the "pandora's box."

She said: "It is extremely hurtful for someone going through a loss this big. I loved his (KK Singh's) son, looked after him. At least have humanity. If not for me, for him."

Rhaa said that it was a systematic effort to destroy her and her family.

"It is really difficult. Me and my entire family going through scrutiny. There's a mob outside my gate. What are you doing to my family? Why can't you wait for results to come? We have faith in the system. That is why we are alive, else would have committed suicide. My father served in the army for 25 years and this is what is happening to him."

"I don't seem to understand why I am at the centre of this. Maybe because of the witch-hunt mentality, because the family has made these allegations. Never thought the world could be so sick. Never knew people cannot see through the false stuff. This has made my life a soap opera. Everyone is a judge and the jury," she said.

Rhea requested the media to stop their trials and wait for the results by the probe agencies.

"Don't be judges. Let the agencies do their job. Let me have a fair trial. Be responsible. I have not done anything wrong, why should I be arrested?"

"There are two sides to a story. You are hearing one side for months. I have no motive to do something to the guy I loved and find difficult to live without. Please see logic in what I am saying," she said.

Sushant, who was born in Bihar, had committed suicide at his own flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.

Though the Mumbai Police initially stated it to be a suicide case, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with Bihar Police alleging that Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty had siphoned off Rs 15 crore from his son's account and other accounts of companies floated with his investments.

As per the recommendation by the Bihar government, the death case was handed over to the CBI by the central government.

The CBI began its probe last week by questioning the Bollywood star's staff member and meeting the Mumbai cops.

However, the central probe agency has not yet summoned Rhea Chakraborty.
