Sushma Swaraj reaches Maldives

Male, Mar 17 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday reached Maldives for her two-day tour to the island nation.

Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid received Swaraj.

Swaraj's visit marks the first high-level visit from India to the Maldives since new government assumed office in November last year. 

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "EAM @SushmaSwaraj receives a warm welcome on arrival in #Maldives. In a special gesture, FM @abdulla_shahid & Foreign Secretary Abdul Mohamed receive EAM at airport. 1st high-level visit to Maldives since new Maldives government assumed office in Nov. 2018."
