Chennai: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old private college student was gangraped by five youths at knife point at a secluded place in neighbouring Kancheepuram taluk.

The incident took place on Thursday night and it came to light yesterday and the police, acting on a complaint, registered cases under the provisions of IPC and TN Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act and arrested five youths last night.

The girl and her friend used to meet at the secluded on a regular basis. During a similar meeting on Thursday night, two youths, who were consuming alcohol approached them and also called their of their friends and threatened them at knife point.

While three of them held the girl's friend at knife point, two others took her to a secluded place and raped her.
