Telangana : ACB traps Jangaon Municipal Commissioner while taking Rs 40,000 bribe

Hyderabad/UNI: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught Jangaon Municipal Commissioner in Telangana and her private car driver for taking bribe of Rs 40,000.

At about 13:07 hours this afternoon, the accused Jampala Rajitha, Municipal Commissioner, Jangaon Municipality was caught by ACB officials when she demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 40,000 through Jeedikanti Naveen, a Private car driver from the complainant Chettipalli Raju, a resident of Kamalanagar in Medipalli here for doing an official favour.

The Municipal Commissioner demanded the bribe from the complainant to process the work of relinquishment/ release of 10 per cent construction area mortgaged to Jangaon Municipality by complainant's wife for house construction permission", a ACB release said.

The bribe amount was recovered from the personal car of the commissioner at the instance of Naveen.

The right hand fingers of the car driver yielded positive results in the chemical test.

Rajitha and Naveen were being arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Hyderabad, the release added.
