Kolkata/UNI: As the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) is heading for a third term victory in Bengal, leading in 206 of the 294 seats, rival BJP is yet to concede defeat as its spokesman Amit Malvia said the party will "wait till the end of 15 rounds of counting."

After trailing in several rounds of counting, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee overtook her rival BJP opponent Suvendu Adhikari as she was leading by 2700 votes.

Mr Malvia said the BJP, though it gained hugely from 2016 assembly elections, as the trends show the party was trailing by small margins in about 90 seats.

He, however, said latest trends reflect that there has been a tectonic shift in the polity in West Bengal and BJP has gained hugely in West Bengal.

The BJP had won only three seats in the 2016 assembly poll.

I-PAC poll strategist Prasanta Kishore, who is helping the TMC in the election, had predicted that BJP would not cross the double digit.
