TN raids vindictive, unethical and technically improper, says Mamata Banerjee

"Earlier the Principal Secretary of @ArvindKejriwal was raided and harassed. Now i read Chief Secretary TN also raided. Why this vindictive, unethical, technically improper action? Is it only to disturb the federal structure?" Banerjee asked.
Taking a swipe at BJP President Amit Shah, the Bengal CM said that the former should also face a similar probe.
"Why don't they raid Amit Shah and others who are collecting money?" he tweet read.
"While corruption needs to be condemned strongly, raid on TN Chief Sec by Central agencies devalues institution of head of civil service," her tweet added.
Banerjee also rued the lack of proper procedure and said, "The proper procedure should have been to take the State leadership into confidence and removing him from the post prior to any preemptive action, based on information."
In a kind of crackdown that is unprecedented in the state, Income Tax officials raided the Chennai home of Tamil Nadu's Chief Secretary P Rama Mohana Rao, on Wednesday morning, reports said. .
Rao lives in the city's posh Anna Nagar locality.
Simultaneous raids began at 5:30 am at the bureaucrat's home and seven other locations, including the homes of his relatives.
