New Delhi/IBNS: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Tuesday visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence to discuss the party's government formation in four states where it just won in the state elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and senior leader BL Santosh were among those in attendance at the meeting that went on for over three hours.

On Monday, the Prime Minister had hosted a similar meeting for almost four hours.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath met PM Modi in Delhi on Sunday to discuss the new cabinet in Uttar Pradesh. He is expected to make another visit with leaders from his state to discuss the cabinet line-up.

The swearing-in of Yogi Adityanath as 23rd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is likely to be after Holi with BJP making preparations to make it a grand event.

The swearing-in will be a grand event with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other union ministers attending the function.

The BJP won a historic victory in Uttar Pradesh, scoring 255 out of 403 constituencies and a 41.29 per cent vote share. The party is all set for the first double term in the state in 37 years.

The party also emerged as the single largest party in Goa, winning 20 seats in the 40-member state assembly and decimated Congress to 11 seats. The party is all set to form the government for the second term in Goa with the support of independents and a regional party.

It secured a majority in Manipur Assembly elections as well, reducing other parties to single digits.

In Uttarakhand too, the BJP came back to power for the second consecutive term with a two-thirds majority in the 70-member Assembly.
