Trial judge of Babri Masjid case retiring, SC seeks detailed response from Uttar Pradesh govt

New Delhi, July 15 (UNI): The Supreme Court on Monday sought a detailed response from the Uttar Pradesh Government with regard to the trial judge in the Babri Masjid disputed site demolition case as the judge is retiring on September 30.

The trial court judge, in a letter written to the SC had said that he needed at least 6 months more to conclude the trial.

The apex court bench, headed by Justice Rohinton Nariman, said, it wants the same judge to deliver the judgement finally, as he had heard the entire matter till now and fixed the matter for hearing on Friday.
