Tripura Congress seeks out Governor's attention on child nutrition scam

Agartala/UNI: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee sought the attention of Governor Ramesh Bais over a massive corruption by Tripura State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd while purchasing food and nutrition for children studying at a basic level.

Referring to a media report, Congress state president Pijush Kanti Biswas estimated that about Rs nine crore has been siphoned off under eight schemes of nutrition for child development in the process of bulk purchase of the food items.

He said, “There was an evaluation of the quality of the materials, which was purchased at rates higher than the actual market price.”

Biswas urged the Governor to take appropriate steps into the scam.
