Chandigarh, Dec 28 (IBNS): At least six labourers were killed as a two-storey liquor store collapsed in Chandigarh's Transport Nagar locality on Monday, media reports said.
Several were also injured in the building collapse.

The building in Chandigarh city collapsed while at least 20 construction workers in an adjoining plot were digging a basement, which caused the wall of the liquor store to cave in.

As the building started to collapse, the occupants tried to rush out raising alarm, but only seven labourers managed to come out safely, said reports

Following the incident, three bulldozers and a crane were pressed into service to lift the concrete slab which had fallen into the basement pit.
