UP: Five killed as MUV rams into tree in Bahraich

Shravasti (UP): Five persons, including two children, were killed and two others were injured when a MUV rammed into a tree in Ikauna area of Bahraich district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, a police source said here.

Police sources said that Santosh Gupta, a resident of Tribhuvan Chowk in Nepal’s Nepalganj, has come to meet his relative in Balrampur district.

"While Santosh along with others was returning back to Nepal their vehicle after hitting a stray animal rammed into a tree on the national highway," they said.

Police sources said that seven persons were injured in the incident and taken to the community health centre.

"Five persons, including Nitish Gupta (35), Vinit (18) and three others, including two children, were declared dead at the CHC," they said.

Police sources said that one of the injured Vaibhav (25) was referred to the district hospital in serious condition. "Driver Ajay Mishra is being treated at the CHC," they said.
