UP: Poaching racket busted during raid on ex-army personnel's residence

Meerut, Apr 30 (IBNS): During a raid conducted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Wild Life department and local police in a residence of a retired army personnel in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut city, a huge racket of poaching, illegal wildlife hunting and arms smuggling was busted, media reports said on Sunday.

According to reports, at least 117 kg nilgai meat, animal skin, ivory and 40 guns were seized from the house.

The raid was conducted in the residence for nearly 17 hours.

The seized sample will be sent for forensic examination.

Four people have been detained in connection with the matter so far.

The son of the retired army personnel is national level shooter Prashant Bishnoi.
