Uttar Pradesh: Two killed, 2 injured as jeep rams into tree

Lalitpur:  Two persons were killed and two others injured when a jeep rammed into a tree in Mahrauni area of Lalitpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that Anshul Dubey (27), a resident of Mahrauni town, along with Aziz Ali (35), Ravi Khatik and Nitin Khatik had gone to Madwara town in connection with some work on Friday evening.

"While they were returning the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a tree near Khiriya Latkan village," they said.

Sources said that the injured were taken to an advanced health center where doctors declared Ansul and Aziz dead.

"Ravi and Nitin are being treated at the health center where their condition is stated to be stable. The family members of the deceased have been informed and they have reached the hospital," they said.

Circle Officer (CO) Mahrauni Rakshpal Singh said that two youths have been killed in the incident and their bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
