Vishwas wants FIR filed against Rahul-Priyanka
Amethi, Apr 18 (IBNS) Aam Admi Party's (AAP) Amethi candidate Kumar Vishwas, who has alleged that there is threat to his life from Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi, on Friday demanded that a First Information Report (FIR) should be filed against the ruling party leaders.
"Gauriganj PS refusing to file FIR against Rahul & Priyanka Gandhi in light of past attacks. Officers warn me of arrest if I stay in PS more," Vishwas posted on his Twitter page.
"Sitting on Dharna at Gauriganj Police Station. Appeal all supporters to reach Gauriganj Police Station for peaceful protest," he said in a series of tweets.
He alleged that despite having "evidence" against the Congress party for their involvement in threats, the police refused to register the FIR.
"Supporters join @ Gauriganj Police Station. Police says I need to be injured to file an FIR," Vishwas wrote.
"#CongGoonsAtAmethi threaten us, attack on us, attempt to kill us... But we are no one to be heard! No issues, India is listening," he alleged.
Vishwas, who is campaigning in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, alleged that Rahul and Priyanka's close aide threatened to kill him.
"Rahul-Priyanka close aide threatens to KILL me. Priyanka invites him to guest house to discuss!" tweeted Vishwas earlier.
He also retweeted a post that read: "Local Congress worker in #Amethi, Vinod Mishra threatens to gun down AAP candidate."
Vishwas said he will file a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) and the police against Rahul and Priyanka in this regard.
Pertinently, Vishvas filed his nomination papers from Amethi on Tuesday, while Rahul filed his nomination on Apr 12.
Vishwas is also facing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Smriti Irani in Amethi, who filed her nomination from the Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
