Want American Prez to wear 'Made in Mirzapur' watch: Rahul
Mirzapur, May 6 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he wants an 'American President' to wear a wrist watch bearing a tag of 'Made in Mirzapur'.
"The T-shirts you wear, the camera you use...all bear the tag of 'Made in China'. But I want to see a day when an American President will wear a watch bearing a tag of 'Made in Mirzapur," Rahul said while addressing a rally in Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
He said, "I want to see a day when the American president is asked: 'Bhaiya (brother), what is the time?' And he looks at his watch and on it is written 'Made in Mirzapur'. He then asks his people: 'Where is this Mirzapur? These youths of Mirzapur are snatching away the jobs from American youths. Where is this place?" Rahul Gandhi said at a rally in Mirzapur in UP.
He also said that he does not only want the tag of just 'Made in India' but wants items bearing the tag of 'Made in Mirzapur'.
"I want camera, shoes, t-shirt, watch, to read Made in Mirzapur, Made in Gonda, Made in Saharanpur, Made in Lucknow and Made in Varanasi," the Congress VP said.
He further said the US President Barack Obama once said he is threatened by the potential of Indian youth.
"The American President once said: 'First am scared of Chinese youths and then am scared of Indian youths'. The US president understands the potential of Indian youths...UP youths.. But only your leader here don't realise your potentials. They don't believe in our power but believes in your caste," Rahul said.
