West Bengal: BJP cancels Amit Shah's rally in Jadavpur, blames Trinamool government

Kolkata, May 13 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has cancelled its chief Amit Shah's rally in West Bengal's Jadavpur constituency, accusing the Trinamool Congress government of not giving permission to hold the public meeting.

BJP tweeted, "Since Mamata Banerjee Govt did not give permission for the 2nd rally which was to be held in Jadavpur, Kolkata, Shri @AmitShah is compelled to hold only 2 rallies. People of Bengal will give a befitting reply to this anarchy of Mamata Didi on 23rd May."

The rally was scheduled to be held in Baruipur, which falls under Jadavpur constituency.

Reportedly, the land owner has withdrawn its permission to hold the rally.

The BJP and Trinamool have been at the loggerheads throughout the election season with the saffron brigade eyeing on to gain big in West Bengal.

In Jadavpur, a former Trinamool man Anupam Hazra is BJP's candidate. Hazra is up against Trinamool's celebrity candidate actress Mimi Chakraborty.

Meanwhile, Shah will hold two other rallies in West Bengal's Joynagar and Rajarhat.
