Kolkata, Mar 3 (UNI/IBNS) In a step towards easing daily commute for passengers travelling on buses in Kolkata, tickets for the State-run Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC) buses can be purchased through the ‘Chalo’ mobile app.

This was confirmed by the West Bengal Transport Corporation on Monday, February 25.

As per the statement of the WBTC, the facility would be extended to all government buses in a few weeks’ time.

Usage of the app will help commuters eliminate the need to wait for the bus conductor to dispense tickets and to carry small change.

Tickets can be purchased by entering the start location and destination while payments can be made via credit or debit card, net banking, mobile wallet (through Jio Money, Freecharge, Ola Money, PayZapp, Mobikwik) or UPI system.

It must also be mentioned that passengers can avail a discount worth 10 per cent of the fare on every purchase of a mobile ticket.

One can download the Chalo app for free from the Google Play Store.
