Kolkata/IBNS: A day after a suspected crude bomb exploded in a house in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas claiming a life, a minor girl was on Wednesday seriously injured in a blast in Malda district.

According to reports, the girl was wounded in a suspected bomb blast in a maize field near her house at Gouripur village under Rotua Police Station limits in Malda district.

She was rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to Malda Medical College and Hospital as her health condition had deteriorated.

Earlier on Tuesday, a middle-aged man was seriously injured in a suspected crude bomb explosion in a house at Amjhara Sardarpara area under Basanti Police Station limits in South 24 Parganas district.

The explosion led to a fire that gutted the house, where multiple crude bombs were allegedly stored.

The injured man, who was identified as Farukh Sardar, succumbed to his wounds while being transferred to a Kolkata hospital.

Police have initiated investigations into both incidents.
