West Bengal Teacher Recruitment Scam: Minister Partha Chatterjee arrested
Kolkata: Enforcement Directorate officials on Saturday arrested West Bengal Minister and Trinamool Congress heavyweight Partha Chatterjee in connection with the alleged teacher recruitment scam in the state.
He was arrested after he was quizzed for more than 25 hours.

He is being taken to the ED office in Kolkata.

According to reports, he will be produced before the court later in the day.
The arrest occurred just a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday recovered Rs. 20 crores in cash from the house of an associate of Partha Chatterjee in connection with an alleged teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal.
The ED raided Arpita Mukerjee's house from where they seized the huge stash of cash. The probe agency also seized electronic devices, 20 mobile phones and documents related to the scam, local media reports said.

As per media reports, the ED initially launched raids over 14 locations from where the officials seized a document having the name of Arpita Mukherjee following which her residence was raided.
Arpita Mukherjee, who has been mentioned as a 'close associate' of Partha Chatterjee by the ED, reportedly acted in some films.
Apart from Chatterjee, the ED also conducted raids on Minister of State for Education Paresh C Adhikary, MLA Manik Bhattacharya and others.
