Sonarpur: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed confidence when he said his Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government in West Bengal after winning the assembly polls and he will attend the oath-taking ceremony of the new CM.

Addressing an election campaign in West Bengal, he said:  "The two phases have decided the outcome of the election. The more we will proceed into future phases of the elections, I am sure Didi will appear far more annoyed. Didi, you are facing a defeat."

Speaking on Mamata Banerjee's Nandigram move, she said: "Some people in TMC had decided to field Mamata Didi from another seat. However, some intelligent people told her that it would be her second biggest mistake. Some people advised her that in case she would lose both seats then it will become very difficult for TMC to function as a party."

Mamata fought against BJP's Suvendu Adhikari in the Nandigram seat where polling was held in the second phase of the election on Apr 1.

Speaking on reports that Banerjee might contest from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, he said: "Two things have become clear with her decision to fight from Varanasi. First of all Didi has accepted her defeat in Bengal and secondly she has started finding a place outside Bengal."

He said people of Varanasi will not consider her an 'outsider'.

Modi is an MP from Varanasi seat for the past two terms.
