Winter Session of Parliament ends, Govt blames Congress for repeated disruptions
The BJP-led government hit out at the Congress for the disruptions in the Parliament and specially in the Rajya Sabha.
"The nation needs to be given an explanation by the principal opposition party as to why they didn't let the Rajya Sabha to function," Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.
"This is a cheating of the people," he said.
Naidu said the Congress is not wanting the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to carry out its functions properly.
"They don't want the government and the PM to succeed," Naidu said.
"I will like to say that the government wants to make as many reforms as possible," he said.
Amid disruptions during the Winter Session, the Rajya Sabha, however, passed the landmark Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill 2015 on Tuesday.
It seeks to amend the law to allow trying those over 16 years of age and accused of heinous crimes like the gang-rape of Nirbhaya, as adults.
With this, the Bill stands passed in the Parliament.
The Bill was earlier passed by the Lower House of the Parliament, Lok Sabha, on May 7 this year.
