Hubballi/UNI: Charting that the Bharatiya Janata party’s central leaders have not given a free-hand to the Chief minister B S Yediyurappa on the issue of expansion of Cabinet, former Chief minister and the Congress leader Siddaramaiah had opined that ''it has hampered the State’s development''.

Speaking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the Congress leader alleged that ''by not giving permission to Yediyurappa to expand his ministry, it was evident that there is no any internal democracy in the Saffron Party''.

The Congress, leader, who had presented a record number of Budget for Karnataka, has said that ''the state is deprived of from getting its due share of Central taxes, and other grants''.

''All the developmental works had come to a standstill following non-compliance by the Center in releasing funds," Siddaramaiah said.

Strongly opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act, the former chief minister said that ''The law had been brought-in on religion basis, which is anti-constitution''.

He also refuted the charges that the on-going agitation across the nation over the CAA has been funded by the Popular Front of India and said that ''let the Center order for a probe before levelling false charges''.

''If the charges on PFI is true, let the Government take punitive actions," he added.

Referring to the continued delay in the announcement of the new party president for the state Congress, he said, ''We have briefed the party high command on the issue, and a final decision is expected to come soon."
