7 New Bikes Unveiled at Auto Expo, Delhi

While, some automakers gave an insight of their future products, many used it as a platform to launch their new products. A total of 90 new products were unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo across passengers and commercial vehicle segments. Here’s a list of some of the new bikes that were rolled out at the event.

1. Honda Navi: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India launched first- of- its kind motor scooter-Navi. Presenting the perfect amalgamation of features of scooter and bike, Honda Navi offers comfort of a scooter and splendid performance of a bike. Available in three different variants: Street, Adventure and Off-road, Navi comes with a V-matric automatic transmission that helps to achieve it a high speed of 81kmph. Powering the bike is a 110cc single cylinder engine with Honda Eco Technology, producing 7.83bhp at 7,000rpm and 8.96Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Honda Navi sits on an under born type frame and rides on 90/90-12 tyre in up front and 90-100/10 tyre in rear front.

2. Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi: Suzuki Motorcycle has unveiled Fi variant of the Suzuki Gixxer SF in a new monotone ‘Candy Antares Red’ color. The new variant is driven by fuel edge injection technology, which intelligently monitors and adjusts the level of air to fuel ratio to maintain optimal combustion conditions. Powers of the Gixxer come from a 154.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that gives 14.7bhp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Further, the fuel injection variant is also available in the Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition.

3. BMW G 310 R: Born in Germany and brought up by TVS in India, BMW G310 is the essence of comfortable and stylish riding. It is maneuverable, sporty and light weighted with a 313cc engine and DOHC engine toned for 34bhp at 9500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7500rpm.  Some other mechanical features of the bike include USD forks up front and a monoshock setup at the rear. Its braking performances come from its 300mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes.

4. Yamaha MT-09: Taking its power levels to a new height, Yamaha launched the MT-09 performance street bike. Available in two different color options— Race Blue and Matt Grey, this naked roadster comes equipped with a petite headlamp and a chiseled fuel tank with minimum use of body panels. Special attention has been given to make its riding posture comfortable with a wide handle bar and mildly rear-seat foot pegs. It has a die cast aluminum diamond type frame and swing arm to keep it lightweight. This powertrain is equipped with 850cc, triple-cylinder and liquid cooled motor, which claims to produce 115PS at 10,000rpm and 87.5Nm at 8,500rpm. Further, transmission duties are carried out by its 6-speed transmission.

5. UM Renegade Cruisers: UM Motorcycles launched three cruisers— Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic. All three bikes are powered by the same 279cc single cylinder water-cooled engine that makes about 25bhp power and 22Nm of torque. The Renegade features, such as hydraulic telescope, and wide handlebars make it an ideal cruiser for daily riding. The Renegade Commando comes in-built with hydraulic telescopic front and spring rear suspension system. On the other hand, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic gets telescopic upfront and a dual shock rear suspension system.

6. Triumph Bonneville: Triumph has virtually reinvented its Bonneville range with the launch of Street Twin and Bonneville T120. The Street Twin is powered by a 900cc twin-cylinder, air and liquid-cooled engine. It is believed to be 18% more powerful than its previous model. The maker has revamped the look of Street Twin with features, such as assisted slipper clutch, 6-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire, USB socket, engine immobilizer and traction control. On the other hand, the Triumph Bonneville T120 derives its power from a 1200cc air and liquid-cooled parallel twin-engine that produces 54% more torque than its previous model. This revised bike has now lighter chassis and got ergonomically better.

7. Hero Motor Splendor iSmart 110: What makes this bike unique is the fact that the model has been completely designed and built in-house by Hero. Available in two trims—drum and disc, this new bike is powered by 110cc air-cooled, single cylinder and 4-stroke engine. It comes packed with features, such as split grab rails, tail lamps, and analog-digital instrument cluster.
