Actor Parno Mittra finds Kolkata's newest luxury residential complex, Urbana, complete in itself

Constructed by Larsen & Toubro, Urbana is an initiative of a consortium of leading real estate companies -- Emami, JB, MKJ, Nahata, Shrachi and Sureka Groups -- along with the state government.

The wide, open spaces and organized landscaped areas have been designed by Thailand’s Green Architects.

The sprawling complex consists of seven 40-45 storey towers, offering a sky-high view of the city on one side and sprawling farmlands on the other. A total of 1,170 apartments and 53 bungalow plots make up the project currently. The luxury apartments range from 1,833 sqft to 5,318 sqft and duplex and pent-houses range from 4000 sqft to 9000 sq ft.

The show flat display was attended by some of the popular members of the city's film fraternity, including Parno Mittra, Arindam Sil, Arjun Chakraborty, Raj Chakraborty, Ena Saha, Sourasani Maitra and Pratim D Gupta.

The show flats gave a fair idea of the surrounding view and the spacious and luxurious interiors.

Show-Flat one, a 4 BHK 5,205 Sq. feet unit (Unit 0801, Tower 3), with a powder room and an attached servants room, was located on the 8th floor. The attached bath of the Master bedroom  was 11ft X 9ft approx., and had an attached bath tub with Jacuzzi fittings and ‘His & Her’ sinks. The other show flat, a 3BHK 1,965 sq. feet unit (Unit 1505, Tower 4), offered a panoramic view of Kolkata’s skyline. 

According to the company, all apartments at Urbana  have VRF air-conditioning systems to save considerable amounts of electricity, solid waste management systems, video door phone, cooking gas supply by piped gas and a centralized gas bank  as well as sprinkler, smoke detector and fire alarms.

The soon to be launched exclusive Residents’ Clubhouse of one lakh sqft will include, according to the company, an infinity edge swimming pool (approx. 1700 sq mts), a covered lap-pool, an ultramodern gym with state-of-the-art equipment, sports facilities like squash, billiards etc, a multi activity play area and a toddler room, besides an approx. 5000 sqft of restaurant and bar.

Each tower has a large community hall to host social events.

The complex has its own water and sewage treatment plants.
