Bengal Chamber starts 'MSME Udyog' to guide MSMEs
Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday stated that it is imperative for the medium and small-scale industries to flourish in order for the state of West Bengal to reach its full potential.
“MSMEs are the current future of the state, and we must find a way for them to flourish alongside the larger and more established industries,” said Alok Roy, the Chamber’s newly-elected president.
To take forward this issue, the Chamber has started the ‘MSME Udyog’, under which it will provide general guidance to all manner of small and medium-scale industries.
Roy also said that the vast number of MSME clusters which were being planned would give a tremendous boost to Bengal’s economy.
Ambarish Dasgupta, the Chamber’s President-Designate, stated that the Chamber was planning to project Kolkata as a ‘city of analytics’.
He called for a boost from the government as well as the various chambers of commerce, so that analytical companies are encouraged to set up headquarters here.
