Kolkata/IBNS: Private non-life insurer Bharti AXA General Insurance has launched its crop insurance campaign ‘Fasal Ka Bima Bohot Zaroori Hai’ (‘it is important to have crop insurance’) for farmers in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The company has secured a mandate to insure farmers in Maharashtra and Karnataka for a period of three years under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), which provides farmers protection for yield and financial losses incurred due to inclement weather, floods, pests, etc.

Bharti AXA General Senior VP & Head, Agriculture and Rural Business and Claims, Alok Shukla said, ‘’The entire crop cycle from pre-sowing to harvesting and post-harvest risks is replete with unpredictable fears and threats. The campaign sensitizes the farmers about the quintessential importance of securing their crops.”
