Gurugram: BMW Motorrad is set to launch its CE 04 electric scooter in India on July 24, with pre-launch bookings already underway.

This entry into the Indian electric scooter market is expected to be priced at Rs 10 lakh, making it the most expensive scooter in the country.

At this price, it surpasses the cost of some electric cars, such as the MG Comet EV (starting at Rs 6.99 lakh) and the Tata Tiago EV (starting at Rs 7.99 lakh), and is comparable to the Tata Punch EV, which starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, according to an Economic Times report.

The BMW CE 04, which debuted in December in India, features an elongated, low design with a diagonally rising front end. It includes a flat bench-type seat, sharp bodywork, and twin pod headlights at the front.

The scooter is built on a steel double-loop frame, with a single-bridge telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided swingarm with directly hinged suspension support at the rear.

It rides on 15-inch wheels at both ends and employs 265 mm discs for the braking system.

The scooter measures 2285 mm in length, 855 mm in width, and 1150 mm in height, with a seat height of 780 mm, which can be increased by 20 mm with an optional comfort seat provided by BMW.

The CE 04 boasts numerous features, including all LED lighting for the headlight, indicators, and taillights. It also comes with a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument display that shows built-in navigation and connectivity, performance data, EV-specific details, dual-channel ABS, and more. Customers can opt for dynamic traction control and ABS Pro for additional safety.

The CE 04 is powered by a 9 kWh battery pack paired with a liquid-cooled electric motor, delivering 41 bhp of power and 62 Nm of torque.

It can accelerate from 0-50 kph in 2.6 seconds and claims a top speed of 120 kph. The scooter has a claimed range of 130 km and can be charged in 1 hour and 40 minutes using a fast charger.
