Bengaluru: Edtech company Byju's has appointed long-standing company member Arjun Mohan as the CEO of its India operations, succeeding Mrinal Mohit.

This move is part of an effort to reinforce senior leadership and streamline operations amidst ongoing financial and operational challenges.

According to a statement from the company on September 20, Mohit is departing to pursue personal aspirations.

He had been overseeing Byju's' India operations since May of the previous year.

He was one of the co-founders of the firm and worked with them for over a decade.

Arjun Mohan, who previously worked as Byju's Chief Business Officer, quit the firm in 2020 to join Ronnie Screwvala's upskilling unicorn upGrad as its CEO, reported Moneycontrol.

In July, this year, he returned to Byju’s to head the international business of the edtech company, it added.
