CMO P&A dept first in SAIL to be certified to ISO 9001:2015

Kolkata, Aug 23 (IBNS): The Personnel & Administration department of SAIL’s Central Marketing Organisation (CMO) has been certified to Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015.

With this, it has achieved the distinction of being the first department in SAIL to be accredited with this latest ISO standard.

M/s BSI Group India Pvt. Ltd., the certification agency appointed by SAIL, audited the P&A group at CMO headquarters in Kolkata and its Regional Offices and recommended certification under ISO 9001:2015 standards w.e.f. 19.05.2017. The certification is valid up to 19.05.2020.

The certification is expected to further strengthen the working practices in the department under a disciplined time-frame and system orientation.

Along with application of innovative ideas, this will boost the inherently proactive and customer-focused efforts of CMO’s HR group and enable it to achieve a high level of employee satisfaction.

To save costs to the company, the CMO P&A collective took up the challenge of switching over to the new standard from the existing ISO 9001:2008 through activities which involved understanding the nuances of the new standard, radically changing documentation methods, spreading awareness amongst the P&A team and going for internal audit as per the new standard.
