Foxconn to invest Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, 14,000 jobs expected to be created

Tamil Nadu government on Monday confirmed tech giant Foxconn will invest Rs 15,000 crore in the southern Indian state and expects to generate 14,000 jobs.

The Tamil Nadu government announced the initiative and wrote on X: "#Foxconn is set to invest INR 15,000 crore and create 14,000 skilled jobs, powering the State’s electronics and advanced manufacturing growth."

"Hon’ble @CMOTamilNadu met with Mr. Robert Wu, India Representative of #Foxconn, strengthening Tamil Nadu’s reputation as a trusted hub for innovation, R&D, and AI-led manufacturing," X post said.

The state said a separate desk for the Taiwanese company for quick regulatory approvals will be set up.

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin thanked the company for choosing his state for the investment.

" This marks another milestone in our journey to make Tamil Nadu the manufacturing and innovation hub of South Asia," he said.
