GST rollout likely by July 1, says Jaitley

New Delhi, Mar 4 (IBNS): In a major announcement, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said Goods and Service Tax Council has cleared the Central GST (C-GST) and Integrated GST (I-GST) laws.

The Minister said: "The decision was unanimous."

He said: "All the states supported it."

Jaitley said the possible time of implementing the GST will be July 1.

"GST looks on track," the Minister said.

"Subject to Parliament approval, it looks like the possible date of implementation of GST is July 1," Jaitley said.

Jaitley made the remarks after the 11th GST Council meet.
