Chennai/UNI: Passenger car maker Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Saturday announced that its Super Performer Brand Hyundai Venue is all set to close the calendar year 2019 with 100,000 bookings.

The popularity and demand for Made-in-India 'Venue' was evident in the overseas market as well.

It was ready to foray into the South African market from December two, with the first major shipment of 1,400 units to South Africa from the Chennai Port today.

The other markets of 'Venue' exports were Nepal, Bhutan, Mauritius and Seychelles.

A release from HMIL said currently, the 1.0 Turbo GDi with 7 DCT RHD (Right Hand Drive) model was being exported to all countries, including South Africa.

The LHD (Left Hand Drive) model was being developed and was expected to be exported to the Gulf, African and Latin American regions.

S S Kim of HMIL said “Hyundai Venue has become the customers’ first choice in India and global markets.

Launched in May this year, it has penned a new success story, having registered over 90,000 bookings (from May-November) in India.

HMIL would continue this momentum in the 2020 with new products coupled with new technology, he added.
