IDBI Bank contributes Rs. 5 cr to Ramakrishna Mission
Mumbai, Nov 11 (IBNS): IDBI Bank, as part of its CSR initiative of promoting education among students from weaker sections of the society, has contributed Rs. 5 crore to Ramakrishna Mission towards creation of an endowment fund named 'IDBI Bank Golden Jubilee Scholarship Fund'.
M.S. Raghavan, Chairman and Managing Director, IDBI Bank, handed over the cheque of Rs. 5 crore at a function held at IDBI Tower, Mumbai recently. Swami Bodhasarananda received the cheque on behalf of Ramakrishna Mission.
The endowment fund will be set up in the form of a fixed deposit; the periodic interest thereon will be utilized by Ramakrishna Mission to provide scholarships to the identified students from Class V to XII studying in Ramakrishna Mission Schools across the country, from weaker sections of the society.
The function was also attended by Viney Kumar, Executive Director, IDBI Bank, R.V. Iyer, Chief General Manager, IDBI Bank and other senior officials of IDBI Bank.
