Indian benchmark indices closed higher on Friday

Mumbai, Oct 13 (IBNS): The Indian market closed higher on Friday with BSE Sensex up 250.47 points at 32,432.69 and NSE Nifty up 71.10 points at 10,167.50.

The market took heart from macro data, earnings and telcos deals, according to media reports.

Share price of Idea Cellular gained 6 percent as its shareholders approved the merger with Vodafone India, media reported.

Top gainers included Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Tata Steel, Bharti Infratel, Kotak Mahindra, Coal India and HDFC Bank while Dr Reddy's Labs, GAIL, M&M, Zee Entertainment, Sun Pharma, ITC and Maruti Suzuki declined.
