Indian Market: Sensex down over 300 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday dropped further by 371 pts to open at 59,296.54 as selling was seen in Finance, Health Care, Industrials and IT stocks.

The Nifty too slipped by 93 pts at 17,655.60.

The sensex registered days high and low at 59,419.01 and 59,148.73 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,684.05 and 17,608.15 pts.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.25 pc and Small Cap by 0.07 pc.

In 30 scrips, 9 advanced while 21 declined.

The losers were ICICI Bank by 1.75 pc to Rs 704.45, Ultracemco by 1.37 pc to Rs 7483.80, Maruti Suzuki by 1.34 pc to Rs 7320.05, Tech Mahindra by 1.17 pc to Rs 1398.80 and HDFC Bank by 1.06 pc to Rs 1597.

The gainers were NTPC by 1.52 pc to Rs 133.95, Dr Reddy's Lab by 1.27 pc to Rs 4894.40, Powergrid by 1.01 pc to Rs 185.60 and Bajaj finance by 0.73 pc to Rs 7599.50.
