Indian Market: Sensex drops 134.03 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday slipped further by 134.03 pts to settle at 38,845.82 as selling pressure was seen in Finance, Bankex, Consumer Durable, Metal and Oil and Gas stocks.

The nifty of National Stock Exchange too fell by 11.15 pts at 11,504.95pts.

See saw trend was seen during the day, as the Sensex jumped 221 pts to open at 39,200.42, which remained days high.

Later, it dropped nearly 344 pts to 38,635.73 days low before closing at 38,845.82, down by 134.03 pts from its last close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 39,200.42 and 38,635.73 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,584.10 and 11,446.10 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices that kept the market under pressure for another day today include, Finance, Bankex, Consumer Durable, Metal and Oil and Gas stocks.

In scrips, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki and Titan were slipped.

However, buying in Bharti Airtel, M& M, NTPC, Tech Mahindra and Sun Pharma capped from further losses, broker informed.

The Mid Cap was up by 0.26 pc while Small Cap fell by 0.32 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 were advanced while 14 declined.
