Indian Market: Sensex touches 49K to end at 49008.50

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping a losing streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex on Friday jumped 568.38 pts to 49,008.50 on the strength of Consumer Durable, Metal, Telecom and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 182.40 pts to 14,507.30.

The Sensex rallied 529 pts to open at 48,969.25. It spurted 791 pts to 49,234.66, days high before closing at 49,008.50, up by 568.38 pts from its previous close.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 49,234.66 and 48,699.91 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 4,572.90 and 14,414.25 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices that lifted the market were Metal, Telecom, Consumer Durable and Capital Goods stocks.

The scrips that rose were Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, Titan, Hind Unilever and Bajaj Auto.

The Mid Cap rose by 1.66 pc and Small Cap by 1.08 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.
