Indian Market: Sensex up 100.26 pts

The BSE Sensex on Wednesday advanced 100.26 pts to close at 65,880.52 following gains in telecommunications, FMCG, Consumer Durable and Health Care stocks.

The Nifty moved up 36.15 pts at 19,611.05.

The Sensex fell 36 pts at 65,744.19 in opening session. It was dropped 297 pts at 65,483, days low. Later, it erased earlier losses and ended in green, up 100.26 pts at 65,880.52 from its previous close.

The stocks like Telecommunications, FMCG, Consumer Durable and Health Care kept the market positive.

Telecommunications went up by 1.69 pc followed by FMCG by 1.05 pc, Consumer Durable by 0.89 pc and Health Care by 0.69 pc.

In scrips, Bharti Airtel was a top gainer, rising 1.57 pc to Rs 879.60, HDFC Bank by 1.36 pc to Rs 1596.55, Titan by 1.25 pc to Rs 3175.25 and Ultracemco by 1 pc to Rs 8640.25.

The losers were Tata Steel by 1.67 pc to Rs 129.50, Axis Bank by 1.66 pc to Rs 965.25, NTPC by 1.15 pc to Rs 231.90 and ICICI Bank by 1.13 pc to Rs 957.60.

The Mid term rose by 0.13 pc while Small Cap eased by 0.04.

In 30 scrips 17 advanced while 13 declined.
