Indian Market: Sensex up 500 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied 563.28 pts at 53, 356.90 in opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty rose by 171.70 pts at 15,953.85.

The sensex registered days high and low at 53,428.28 and 52,632 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 15,977.95 and 15,739.65 pts respectively.

The Mid cap moved up 1.22 pc and Small Cap by 1.10 pc. In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.04 pc to Rs 1129.75, Bajaj finance 2.53 pc to Rs 2143.90, Titan by 2.53 pc to 2143.90, IndusInd Bank by 2.37 pc to Rs 892.65 and Maruti Suzuki by 2.23 pc to Rs 7259.

The losers were Powergrid by 1.27 pc to Rs 233.90, Ultracemco by 1.12 pc to Rs 6130.50, Dr Reddy's Lab by 1.05 pc to Rs 3882.40 and ITC by 0.79 pc to Rs 256.60.
