Indian Market: Sensex up 80 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday gained 80 points to open at 65,300 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty rose 43 points to 19,439.20.

The midcap rose by 0.49 percent and the small cap by 0.60 percent.

In 31 scrips, 21 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Axis Bank by 0.89 pc to Rs 965.95, JSW Steel by 0.76 pc to Rs 801.15, L&T by 0.60 pc to Rs 2695.50, and Reliance Industries by 0.48 pc to Rs 2531.10.

The losers were Jio Financial Services by 5 percent to Rs 227.25, Sun Pharma by 1.49 percent to Rs 1119.80, Bharti Airtel by 0.51 percent to Rs 873, and ITC by 0.44 percent to Rs 452.20.
