Indian Market: Sensex up by 66 pts

Mumbai/UNI: BSE Sensex on Friday rose by 66 pts to open at 44,325.03 as fresh buying was witnessed in Utilities, Auto, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too moved up by 25 pts to 13,012.05.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 44,407.28 and 44,106.62 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 13,035.30 and 12,952.70 respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 1.41 pc and Small Cup by 1.07 pc respectively.

In 30 scrips 16 advanced while 14 declined.

The gainers were Bajaj Auto by 2.30 pc to Rs 3202.05, NTPC by 1.81 pc to Rs 95.80, Asian Paints by 1.15 pc to Rs 2180.75, Bajaj finance by 1.04 pc to Rs 4878 and Sun Pharma by 1.03 pc to Rs 516.85.

The losers were Powergrid by 1.82 pc to Rs 194.10, TCS by 1.17 pc to Rs 2689, HDFC by 0.94 pc to Rs 2217.55, SBI by 0.84 pc to Rs 219.85 and Reliance Industries by 0.81 pc to Rs 1938.
