Indian Rupee down 29 paise to 71.77 against USD

Mumbai, Aug 28 (UNI) The Rupee on Wednesday tumbled down by 29 paise to settle at 71.77 against the greenback on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

Surging by 54 paise on Tuesday, the local unit eased by 4 paise to 71.52 in early trade. Till the end of the session it nosedived by 29 paise to 71.77 as compared to its last close.

The Rupee recorded day high and low at 71.88 and 71.45 respectively.

The Rupee was seen weak because of weak Dollar against other world currencies along with sliding equity market, they added.
