Indian Rupee down 62 paise against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Friday down by 62 paise to close at 76.17 versus the US Dollar on brisk demand for US dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the forex market said.

The domestic unit that wad slid by 40 paise to 75.95 in opening trade lost ground by 62 paise to finish.

At 76.16 as compared to its last close.

The rupee recorded days and Iow at 76.20 and 75.90, respectively.

The Indian currency dipped because Of firm dollar against other world Currencies amid sliding equity market, they added.

The forex market will remain close on Monday for 'mahavir jayanti' dealer informed.
