Indian Rupee ends strong at 74.87against USD; 47 paise up
Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Wednesday ended strong at 74.87, surging 47 paise against the US Dollar on selling of US Dollar by bankers and importers along with sliding global crude oil prices, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.
In the opening trade, the local unit jumped 23 paise at 75.11.
During the day it rallied by 47 paise to close at 74.87 as compared to its previous close.
The local unit registered the days high and low at 74.80 and 75.15 respectively against the US Dollar, dealers added.
The local unit was seen strong because of a weak dollar against other world currencies in spite of a weak equity market, dealers added.
