Indian Rupee sheds 13 paise at 74.44 against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Tuesday dropped thirteen paise to close negative at 74.44 against the US Dollar on brisk demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

A local unit that tumbled down by 22 paise at 74.53 in opening trade, till the end of the session, it was slightly improved from opening level, but finished negative only at 74.44, sliding by 13 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee remained under pressure due to strong dollar against other world currencies amid strong equity market, dealer said.

The local unit registered days high and low at 74.58 and 74.40 respectively.
