Indian Rupee down 42 paise against USD
Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Friday dropped by 42 paise to 71.79, a six-week low on brisk demand for US Dollars spooked by a surge in global oil prices, dealers at the Forex Market said.
In opening trade, the local unit that slipped by seventeen paise to 71.55 and slid 42 paise to end negative at 71.79 as compared to previous close.
The domestic unit recorded day high and low at 71.81 and 71.51 respectively.
The Indian currency remained weak for another day on strong dollar against other world currencies, they added.
