J&K Bank commissions 5 ATMs in Pulwama

Srinagar:  At J&K Bank, customer comfort remains the focus of all our policies and practices.

Expanding the network of ATMs across the region is part of this policy, as they provide faster, hassle-free and reliable banking services to the people far beyond the normal working hours of the bank.

J&K Bank Chairman and Managing Director R K Chhibber stated this today while commissioning five Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in district Pulwama taking the total number of such machines in the zone to 102.

In line with bank’s mission to extend basic banking services to people irrespective of their location and status, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer (IAS) and the bank’s (CMD) R K Chhibber jointly inaugurated the ATMs in Pulwama at New Court Complex, Chatapora and Degree College for Women in presence of zonal Head Kashmir South (I) Mohammad Shafi Salroo,Special Secretary (CMD) Karanjit Singh, cluster heads, LDMs and other officers of the bank. Principal and District session Judge Mohammad Ibrahim Wani and Principal, Degree College for Women Pulwama Mushtaq Ahmad Lone were also present during the inauguration of ATMs at the new Court complex and college campus respectively.

During an interaction at the bank’s Zonal Office South, the CMD thanked the DDC Pulwama for being part of the inaugural function and said, “I feel very pleased to have the dynamic Deputy Commissioner Dr Raghav Langer (IAS) here at our Zonal Office. It is because of the synergy between the government departments, headed by the DDC himself and J&K Bank that is leading the socio-economic growth in the zone with an outstanding CD Ratio of 105 pc; for which I personally extend gratitude to Raghav Ji.”

He reiterated that unnecessary rejection of the KCC and other government sponsored cases was unacceptable and underlined the importance of improved co-ordination between the bank and the sponsoring agencies to improve synergy and reduce rejections.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Pulwama thanked J&K Bank for putting in major efforts required for achieving the developmental targets in the district.

While appreciating the dedication of J&K Bank staff, the DDC also called for early disposal of PMEGP cases.

The Principal & District Session Judge Mohammad Ibrahim Wani also welcomed the personal presence of bank’s CMD at the new court complex and thanked him for the visit.

The CMD also interacted with the advocates and other staff at the court complex. Hailing the role played by J&K Bank in the economic development of the region, Principal Degree College for Women Mushtaq Ahmad Lone termed the installation of ATM at college campus as a step forward towards the financial empowerment of women in the district.

Later in the day, the CMD also e-inaugurated two teller machines commissioned in Tukroo Shopian and Murran Pulwama.

Earlier, the bank’s Zonal Head Kashmir (South –I) Mohammad Shafi Salroo thanked the DDC for his extending his support and encouragement during the tough pandemic times.

“Our CMD is truly the champion of pro-business schemes and it is the comfort level with the top management headed by him that has been the driving force for the staff to achieve the targets resulting in the economic development of the zone”, he said.

Post-inaugural ceremony, the CMD interacted with the staff posted at the zonal office. Appreciating their commitment and devotion towards the bank, the CMD lauded the bank-staff for their hard-work and fighting-spirit during the ongoing pandemic as the bank left no stone unturned in providing the basic banking and financial services to the people of both J&K, Ladakh UTs and beyond.

“You are doing appreciably well. However, the challenges posed by the economic slow-down caused by the ongoing pandemic seem to be growing for banks in general, therefore, we need to catch up with these faster and be ready to turn the tide in our favour”, said the CMD urging, “The only success mantra is to meet the genuine expectations of customers and people at large.”
