Kotak Mahindra Bank partners Blind Welfare Organisation for 'National Blind Cricket Tournament 2017'

Kolkata, Jan 6, (IBNS): Kotak Mahindra Bank (Kotak) and Blind Welfare Organisation (BWO), on Friday, announced the dates of the National Blind Cricket Tournament being held from Jan 11-13 at Islam Gymkhana and Wilson Gymkhana at Marine Drive in Mumbai.

National Blind Cricket Tournament, running in its seventh year, has brought some of the most skilful cricketers from India’s Kona Kona to the fore.

This year, eight state teams including Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal will participate in this tournament.

Uday Kotak, Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank, said, “We are delighted to support Blind Welfare Organisation for National Blind Cricket Tournament, which is a great national platform to promote cricket amongst the visually challenged. There is no greater passion or religion greater than cricket in India. Our support for this tournament is Kotak’s way of inclusion of the visually challenged in the sport.”

“Having played cricket myself, I know how tough and demanding the game can be. I am amazed to see the determination and vigour of the players, and look forward to the matches next week,” added Kotak.

Kotak has been associated with the tournament for the past couple of years.
