"After careful evaluation of my current and future commitments, I have decided to step down from the Board. It has been a privilege to chair the Tata Chemicals board and I sincerely appreciate the support and collaboration during my tenure."

Tata Chemicals stated that it had received the letter dated May 28, 2025, in which Chandrasekaran communicated his decision to vacate both posts on the company’s board effective May 29.

During a meeting held on Wednesday, the company’s Board of Directors formally took note of his resignation and appointed S Padmanabhan, who currently serves as a director, as the new chairman with effect from May 30, 2025.
